Cassie Velasquez, M.Ed., is co-owner and senior trainer for Key2Ed. She delivers professional development workshops and expertise to educators nationwide. These workshops are focused on tools, strategies, and techniques that allow teams to identify, acknowledge, prevent, and mitigate conflict in the IEP meeting process. In addition to delivering these workshops to hundreds of educators, Cassie also acts as a resource and coach, providing focused one-on-one instruction and mentorship.
Cassie has over 20 years of educational experience with a main focus in special education. She is a certified mediator and was the lead IEP Facilitator for the Scottsdale Unified School District. Her responsibilities at Scottsdale included facilitating IEP meetings involving advocates and attorneys as well as building facilitation capability throughout the school district by providing training and professional development. Cassie has also taught special education law courses at Grand Canyon University.
Cassie is a well-known public speaker on the subject of IEP facilitation. She regularly speaks at state and national events and is recognized nationally for her expertise and passion in this area.
